Under the supervision of the Group Sales or Department Manager, the Team Leader gives daily direction to the associates in one of the departments within the store, to include: merchandise presentation, inventory control, pricing, sales enhancements, stocking, and customer service activities. This role supports the Group Sales Manager (GSM) / Department Manager (DM) in leadership of firearm sales and compliance with ATF, state, local laws, company policies and procedures, including 4473, 3310, state and internally required firearm forms. The Team Leader provides direction and guidance to Sales Outfitters in firearm safe handling, safety, operations, and customer experience standards within the firearms department. The position also supports the GSM / DM in achieving Departmental Sales, Gross Margin, Inventory Shrinkage, and Payroll Goals, and ensures a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers. Responsibilities include staffing, training, performance appraisal input, weekly work schedule preparation, coaching associates, and resolving customer and associate opportunities. The Team Leader is expected to maintain a high level of personal customer service, be a product expert, and assist with special events, pricing integrity, assortment determination, inventory accuracy, and proper display of advertised items. The role also involves carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and laws, and providing a legendary customer experience by assisting with buying decisions and promoting company programs.
