About The Position

This position leads a tightly integrated team responsible for the development of realizable Electrical Instrumentation and Control (EI&C) solutions. Job Profile Tasks/Responsibilities Lead and mentor a team of engineers in the development of electrical design, analog and discrete system design, distributed control systems (DCS), control architecture and implementation, programmable logic controllers (PLC), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), hardware in the loop (HiL), digital twin (DT), control and training simulation and human machine interface (HMI). Establish technical standards in reviews, documentations, and designs. Capture and track Requirements, Functions, and Interfaces of the EI&C for nuclear reactor systems. Develop/Review EI&C line diagrams, schematics, and other design capture methods. Develop/Review Systems Design Descriptions for systems and components. Lead engineering assignments with clear and specified objectives; utilize conventional specification and/or Interface Control Documents and plans. Interact with other working groups and recommend system design alterations and enhancements to improve quality of products and/or procedures based on multidisciplinary systems interdependence. Contribute to reviews and presentations for internal company design reviews and customer design reviews regarding EI&C system design. Lead planning and execution of experiments/tests to satisfy Design Data Needs. Provide technical feedback to diverse, multi-functional technical groups. Perform all work under a quality assurance program that conforms to nuclear regulatory requirements. Write and critically review technical reports and presentations to meet customer requirements. Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication. Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field from a US accredited university.
  • Seven plus years of relevant experience. M.S. counts as 2 years of work experience and a Ph.D. counts as 3 years of work experience.
  • Technical proficiency in the assigned area of electrical engineering – performing design, analysis, development, research, testing, and/or validation & verification activities.
  • U.S. government contracts may require U.S. citizenship and or DOE L/Q or DOD/SECRET clearance.
  • Willingness to perform duties on-site at X-energy location as required.
