About The Position

Employee will Screen all clientele for appropriateness of services. Schedules and coordinates intake slots with clinical staff, answers questions for all new clientele on a walk-in and phone call basis. This is the top level in the COSS service area. It is distinguished from the other levels in that it has supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent, and 2 + years of work experience.
  • Must be familiar with medical terminology.
  • Ability to type 35 wpm.
  • Ability to enter data into computer accurately.
  • Familiarity with LFC Medical terminology.
  • Familiarity with computer database systems.
  • Ability to respond appropriately in crisis situations, to problem solve, apply rules and criteria to specific situations.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions, and to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with numerous departments.
  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to cultural diversity among clientele and employees.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
  • Ability to make decisions based on established protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, guide and evaluate the work of other COSS employees.
  • Receive all incoming referrals, performs intakes, and process all required intake paperwork to register client.
  • Compile, maintain, retrieve, and file all medical records to ensure completeness, availability, and timeliness.
  • Provide customer service to all scheduled and walk-in appointment, answer telephone operate switchboard, handle requests, and transfer calls to appropriate staff.
  • Process correspondence to other agencies, staff and clients in accordance with the policies and procedures related to confidentiality.
  • Schedule clinical and financial appointments for all clientele including their responsibilities to pay set fees.
  • Input verified information pertinent to intake and appointment scheduling into appropriate fields of the computer database.
  • Verify information collected from clients and other sources for accuracy and completeness.
  • May act/supervise in the absence of program supervisor/director.
  • Perform clerical duties as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.
