About The Position

The Team Lead for the 2nd Shift in Warehouse & Shipping at Johnson Controls is responsible for overseeing a team of associates to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and customer service within the warehouse environment. This role involves championing a safety culture, driving continuous improvement, and collaborating with various departments to meet daily operational objectives. The Team Lead will also be accountable for monitoring departmental metrics and resolving production issues while fostering teamwork and professionalism among peers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship or equivalent education and experience.
• 2 years of experience in a related field.
• Forklift Certification is required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead change in a team environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to generate unique solutions.
• Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Nice To Haves

• Supervisory experience is desired.
• Experience with international shipments paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Champion a safety culture using JCI tools and best practices.
• Train new and existing employees on proper processes and equipment.
• Monitor departmental activities to ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery.
• Drive improvements to departmental metrics such as productivity and inventory management.
• Resolve customer complaints and supplier issues in collaboration with the Quality department.
• Provide shipment documents for invoicing and manage small parts order requests.
• Develop unique solutions to production issues and drive changes in processes.
• Foster teamwork and professionalism in the workplace.
• Perform material handling and other departmental duties as required.
