About The Position

The Team Kentucky Internship Program brings talented and motivated college students into the world of public service. The program provides meaningful and relevant work experience, professional development activities, and offers interns networking opportunities with other interns across the Commonwealth, all while working alongside program and field professionals, state government leaders. The Team Kentucky Internship Program is a prestigious and competitive program; therefore, interested applicants must complete an online application and be vetted through an interview process. Those selected for the program will perform valuable work in our state agencies.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled at an accredited Kentucky post-secondary school or other educational institution approved by the Kentucky Personnel Cabinet.
  • Must be in good standing with the school with at least a 2.5 grade point average at hire.
  • Graduating high school seniors enrolled in college courses with a 2.5 GPA may also qualify and apply to participate in the program.
  • Must be 18 years of age by May 15, 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Support office operations including data entry, licensing, filing, and preparation of event paperwork.
  • Assist Commission staff with event operations, including fighter check-in, ensuring paperwork is completed, and helping coordinate event logistics.
  • Work alongside staff to maintain accurate records and organize event documentation.
  • Contribute to special projects as assigned, which may include compiling event reports, research projects, or developing internal tools and resources to streamline Commission operations.
  • Perform other administrative duties as needed to support the work of the Commission.

Benefits

  • Hourly wage for undergraduate students: $16.444
  • Hourly wage for graduate students: $19.096
  • Additional compensation ($1/hour) for each year that interns return to the program.
