Summary The Team Coordinator (TC) is responsible for overseeing and managing the operation of the clinical support team within the Clinical Support Program (CSP). The Team Coordinator assures the implementation of programs assigned effectively within the division. This position requires effective communication between the clinical support staff (consultants), Program Director, all program stakeholders, and other agency departments.

Requirements

Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related.
LMSW, LCSW, LMHC
5 Years Clinical Experience

Responsibilities

Provide clinical supervision to the CSP clinicians to help them make comprehensive family system assessments integrating mental health, domestic violence and substance use issues
Provide administrative supervision to the CSP clinicians to maintain timely documentation and ensure compliance with standards set by The Child Center of NY, The Administration for Children’s Services and the State Office for Children and Family Services.
Provide leadership in team building and collaboration to enhance service delivery
Manage the clinical support team, implement and oversee the programs’ requirements as assigned. Such requirements include: assigned consultations, client and outside agency-related meetings, and trainings.
Provide leadership in building relationships within ACS field offices, TCCNY central office, preventive agencies, community based mental health, domestic violence and substance use service providers and hospitals
Build capacity of the child welfare workforce by developing/ conducting specialized trainings in mental health, domestic violence and substance use areas.
Build and maintain working relationships with providers city-wide
Develop and support employee growth for retention.
Communicate program aspects throughout the organization.
Oversee community/ client engagement, outreach, and stakeholder relationships.
Meet performance expectations/metrics, as defined for the position within the assigned program.
Conduct formal and informal consultations with ACS Child Protective Specialists on their cases which include mental health and/Intimate partner violence concerns. The CSP consultant will assist in assessing the presence of these concerns and help determine the specific level of interventions required to strengthen the family and reduce risk to the children, providing concrete tools and casework guidance.
Conduct cross consultations with their peers, and CASAC support specialists that involve substance use disorder, mental health concerns and intimate partner violence
Participate in family team meetings, case conferences and child safety conferences with ACS families to assist ACS workers with providing client with psychoeducation, referrals, and raising awareness of the concerns presented and impact on the children. Direct client contact is to model and/ or demonstrate effective interventions and engagement strategies for the benefit of caseworkers or other ACS staff.
Engage directly with families and/or support CPS Teams as they work with families to understand the pressing issues and pertinent history, and to identify and assess areas of concern and strength
Conduct assessments, recommend effective interventions and engagement strategies for the benefit of caseworkers, other ACS staff and families.
Make appropriate referrals for mental health, domestic violence and substance use services.
Attend case reviews as an important training tool, as per request of ACS and approval of the Program Director.
Attend CPS citywide mental health, IPV and substance use meetings- as determined by the Program Director.
Conduct occasional community/ field Visits-including but not limited to home visits, schools, hospitals (i.e. discharge meetings) and other treatment provider sites to assist with engaging clients and partnering with ACS.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Program Director.
Manage the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the clinical support team.
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with agency policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, directing work, leading trainings, rewarding, disciplining employees, performance reviews, and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Ensure timely preparation of administrative reports for central administration of TCCNY and ACS.
Schedule and manage the clinical support team’s schedule regarding consultations, related field work (i.e. community visits, family meetings/ conferences) and other meetings/ trainings)
Manage and schedule ACS support program requests in a timely manner
Aid in coordinating staff acquisition, interviews, orientation, training, payroll and evaluations with the Program Director and Human Resources.
Review, correct and approve clinical support staff timecards
Review and approve or deny clinical support staff PTO (and ensure proper coverage for the team’s respective zone)
