About The Position

TA: A TA is expected to provide approximately 13 hours per week (or 650 hours per year) to assist the Department and College. Responsibilities include: Teaching responsibility for laboratories or discussion sessions; a limited number of didactic lectures per semester based on discipline; assignment to a professor for a semester to assist with classroom activities such as grading, recording, proctoring, preparation of course materials, etc.; or assistance with other Departmental needs such as care and maintenance of animals and the animal facility, analytical instrumentation, or Department equipment and facilities. RA: To provide laboratory support for your projects. • Planning studies and organizing supplies • Conducting Franz cell skin transport studies • Running assay for drug or cosmetic molecule • Data analysis • Writing Reports • Student may work up to 20 hours per week in accordance with student employment policies. Length of employment depends on the need for the work and availability of funds and is contingent upon the student continuing in good status with the University.

Requirements

  • Teaching Assistants must be full-time graduate students in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences in good academic standing and making satisfactory progress toward research and academic goals.
  • Stipends are awarded on an annual basis.
  • Research Assistants must have the ability to understand the rationale for the studies
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to work safely in a laboratory environment.
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in handling confidential information/projects.
  • Ability to prioritize work and complete assignments accurately, either independently or as part of a team; working from own initiative and/or following direction, policies, or procedures.
