About The Position

Provides regional leadership in up-to-date technology and application training for Extension personnel, ensuring staff remain current on emerging software, tools, and electronic communication methods. Develops and delivers training and technical support across 31 counties, the region, Lone Oaks Farm, and AgResearch and Education Centers, including basic networking, web development, and technology planning. Assists offices and centers with evaluating technology needs, implementing solutions, and installing or supporting computers, printers, and related equipment to ensure efficient and modern operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in technology, computer science, teaching, or other related area.
• Three or more years of development of technology training and experience.
• Evidence of ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and evaluate technology training
• Demonstrated qualities of leadership drive and initiative
• Effective in oral and written communications
• A sincere desire to work with people, including the disadvantaged and minorities.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree in related technology discipline or teaching.
• Five or more years of technology training and experience appropriate for the particular program area.
• Accomplished in teaching, training, Extension, and/or service to technology.
• Has knowledge of other Extension program areas, has initiated promising creative activities, and shown interest in diverse professional activities.
• Shows evidence in his/her ability to work well with supervisors, colleagues, and clientele.
• Shows accomplishments in teaching, training, Extension, and/or service in alignment with technology
• Has initiated promising creative activities, and shown interest in diverse professional activities of the discipline

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a regional training plan approved by the Regional Director.
• Train Extension personnel in computer applications and technology according to the plan and incorporate new and current technology into programs.
• Keep up to date and provide training to staff on new and cutting-edge software applications.
• Help create technology solutions for Extension programs in offices in the Western Region.
• Have a basic knowledge of networks.
• Provide training to staff in basic web development.
• Assist in determining computer needs and more efficient use of computers and computer programs.
• Actively participates in staff conferences to share technology experiences and provide in-service training to Extension staff.
• Provide leadership for electronic communications in the Western Region.
