About The Position

SUMMARY: Incumbents provide professional development to teachers and staff. As assigned, work may include, resource for subject matter expertise, developing and delivering professional development; providing individualized teacher support, mentoring and coaching; managing professional development projects; and facilitating district and school initiatives to promote excellence in teaching and learning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and four (4) years of experience in teaching or training.
  • Valid Arizona teaching certificate.
  • Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints ( IVP ) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC).
  • Principles and applications of critical thinking and analysis.
  • Principles and methods of qualitative and quantitative research.
  • Principles and practices of project management.
  • K-8 standards in all content areas.
  • Effective instructional practices.
  • Adult learning theory.

Responsibilities

  • Provides professional development to teachers in support of best practices in planning, instruction and assessment
  • Model lessons as a form of professional development for staff
  • Reviews and analyzes data from assessments to support teachers in making decisions based on data
  • Plans and implements strategies to meet development needs.
  • Provides instructional support by collaborating with teachers to ensure lessons are aligned to standards utilizing district approved resources
  • Conduct observations and coaching conversations with teachers.
  • Facilitates development of curriculum, assessments, resource recommendations and trainings to address and support student's needs.
  • Provides support to teachers on development of classroom management procedures and strategies specific to PreK-8 students.
  • Design, monitor and assess K3 reading achievement progress.
  • Provide professional development and modeling for teachers and building personnel specific to K3 reading.
  • Research and disseminate best practices in programing and teaching of K3 Reading.
  • Participates in the planning and delivery of New Teacher Orientation and peer mentoring
  • Supports new teachers to the profession with day to day teaching, lesson planning, instruction, assessment and reflection to positively impact student achievement.
  • Supports school site Continuous Improvement Plans, district mandates which affect the curriculum, instruction, and assessment for grades PreK-8.
  • Establishes and maintains good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors.
  • Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
  • Other job related duties as assigned.
