About The Position

East Carolina University is an emerging national research university with an enrollment of nearly 27,000 students. The University offers 84 bachelor's degree programs, 71 master's degree programs, 18 doctoral degree programs, and 82 departmental certificates. The MSW program is among the highest enrollment graduate programs at ECU and is offered in-person and online. Along with our degree programs we also offer Graduate Certificates in Substance Abuse and Gerontology and a pathway to state licensure in school social work. More information can be found at the School's website: https://hhp.ecu.edu/socw The School of Social Work is seeking applicants for a 9-month, full-time, fixed-term Teaching Instructor or Senior Teaching Instructor (non-tenure) position to begin August 2026. Faculty responsibilities include teaching in the BSW and MSW programs (including in-person and online courses, and on Saturdays), service to the profession, university, and community, and other duties as assigned. Contingent upon availability of funds.

Requirements

  • Applicants must hold an MSW from a CSWE accredited program and have a minimum of 2 years full-time post-MSW practice experience.
  • Qualifying degrees must be received from regionally accredited institutions.

  • Applicants with 2 or more years of administrative experience in human serving organizations are preferred.
