The Department of Statistics, at The Pennsylvania State University, University Park location, invites applications at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor. Candidates for Assistant Teaching Professor must possess a terminal degree (Ph.D.) in Statistics, Data Science, or a closely related field by the employment start date and have demonstrated ability as a teacher and advisor. The courses for which this position would be responsible may range in level from introductory undergraduate to upper-level undergraduate statistics and data science courses. There is also the possibility that the qualified candidate(s) would be expected to teach graduate-level statistics and data science service courses for non-statistics students. Examples of courses the faculty member may be expected to teach include a capstone course for statistics majors and a course on introductory data science and computing. If desired, the opportunity to occasionally teach in an online setting or to help design/redesign courses that benefit our majors is also a possibility.
