About The Position

The Teaching Associate position in the Department of Fisheries Biology is a temporary role for the academic year 2025/2026, with appointments available for either the Fall or Spring semester, or both. Teaching Associates are responsible for providing classroom and/or laboratory instruction, preparing course materials, administering examinations, assessing student performance, and tutoring students. They may also assist faculty with field experiences, supervision, simulation exercises, and research projects. Applicants must be currently enrolled in the graduate program of the department they are applying to, and those with multiple student classifications are limited to a maximum of 20 hours of work per week during the academic year.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the subject matter of Fisheries Biology.
  • Ability to relate well to others within the academic environment.
  • Education equivalent to or completion of the requirements for a bachelor's degree.
  • Concurrent admission to or enrollment in a graduate degree program in Fisheries Biology.
