About The Position

The Lockport City School District is seeking to fill two full-time Teaching Assistant positions to support In School Suspension rooms at Emmet Belknap Intermediate School and Lockport High School West. The role involves assisting teachers and students in a structured environment, ensuring a positive learning experience for students in need of additional support.

Requirements

• Valid NY state certification in teaching or related field.
• Experience working with at-risk youth or in educational settings is preferred.
• Training in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) is a plus.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Support students in In School Suspension rooms by providing guidance and assistance.
• Assist teachers in managing classroom activities and maintaining a conducive learning environment.

• Monitor student behavior and provide support to ensure compliance with school policies.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to address student needs and promote academic success.
