Global Language Center (GLC) has been a trusted partner of the US State Department for over 13 years, specializing in providing foreign language training and administrative support to government officials at the Foreign Language Institute (FSI) in Arlington, VA. We are currently seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team and contribute to our government contract. The ideal candidate will hold an active secret clearance or be able to obtain one, as this is a requirement for the position. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting course delivery. Your responsibilities will include preparing course materials, such as photocopying and posting article links to FSiLearn, as well as managing classroom logistics, including preparing name tents and door signs. You will also be responsible for coordinating with program analysts on logistical arrangements for field trips and other activities, ensuring that all necessary resources are available for a successful learning experience. In addition to administrative support, you will track registration and enrollment data, prepare reports, and communicate with students to verify their enrollment status. You will also schedule and confirm speakers for courses, ensuring that all guests are properly escorted and accounted for. Your role will involve liaising with students, instructors, and speakers during classes to provide guidance and support, as well as advising students on course enrollment and required materials. Your program support duties will include preparing and collecting surveys and evaluations, maintaining program websites, and notifying other FSI offices of policy changes. You will also contribute to substantive content creation by researching potential course topics, preparing professional materials, and facilitating classroom activities as needed. Event coordination will be part of your responsibilities, assisting with the planning and delivery of special events such as roundtables and panels.
