About The Position

Assistant Teaching Professor position beginning Fall 2026. The position is a 4/4 teaching load split between teaching Accounting and Economics courses in hybrid, online, and in-person modalities. Candidates may have the opportunity to teach in the MBA program and may be asked to teach at branch campuses in the surrounding communities of Wausau and Marshfield. Strong candidates will have a demonstrated ability to teach at the undergraduate and graduate level and have professional experience in accounting, business, or economics. Candidates will be expected to either conduct scholarly research or engage in professional activities related to their field to achieve retention standards and an appropriate accreditation (AACSB) faculty qualification status. Candidates will also be expected to perform service to UW-Stevens Point and the Sentry School.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree (MAcc, MBA, MS/MA, etc.) in a relevant field (Accounting, Economics, Business, etc.) from an AACSB or equivalently accredited college or university, or other high-quality institution.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate level in accounting, business, and economics across different course modalities (in person, online, hybrid, point-to-point).
  • Prior professional experience in accounting, business, or economics applicable to the position.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct scholarly research or engage in professional activities.

Responsibilities

  • May supervise student employees involved in development or delivery of instruction
  • Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction, including assessment of student performance
  • Advises students on academic and career direction within a specific field of study
  • Contributes to the strategic development of curriculum and academic content through various mediums to ensure the integrity of the educational mission of the work unit
  • Contributes to the development of teaching and learning scholarly work including publications and presentations
  • Develops and designs curriculum and instructional material relevant to a course of instruction
  • Collaborates with department faculty and staff to develop teaching strategies relevant to the discipline
