About The Position

The Eastchester School District is seeking an experienced candidate to fill the position of teaching assistant in the Greenvale School assisting a special education teacher to provide academic, social, and/or communication skills to student or groups of students who have learning, emotional, or physical disabilities. Duties performed under the direction of a special education teacher who is responsible for the design and implementation of educational programs and services.

Requirements

• NYS certification: Teaching Assistant
• NYSED Fingerprint Clearance

Responsibilities

• Assist a special education teacher in providing academic support to students with disabilities.
• Support the development of social and communication skills in students.
• Work with individual students or groups of students as directed by the special education teacher.
• Help implement educational programs and services designed by the special education teacher.
