About the position

The position is within the Littel Saints Day Care department at All Saints Hospital in Racine, WI. The schedule requires availability from Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 6 PM. The role involves assisting with the planning and implementation of daily activities for an assigned class, creating opportunities for enhancing student skills, and maintaining student motivation and participation. The position also includes responsibilities related to curriculum development and staff training.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the planning and implementation of daily activities for assigned class.
  • Create opportunities for enhancing student skills.
  • Plan and implement activities that are consistent with student abilities, interests and educational plans.
  • Assist with school inclusion, inclusion in alternate school settings, the development of appropriate curriculum, workshop/life skills, speech and language, art, music, and adaptive physical education.
  • Provide staff in-services.
  • Maintain data and other records according to protocol.
  • Display enthusiasm and appropriate energy level to maintain students motivation, cooperation, and participation.
  • Encourage student independence in communication, decision making and other activities.

Requirements

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience.
  • At least 18 years old and have satisfactorily completed one course for credit in early childhood education or its equivalent at an institution of higher education within 6 months after assuming the position.
  • At least 18 years old and have satisfactorily completed one, non-credit department-approved course in early childhood education within 6 months after assuming the position.
  • Have satisfactorily completed an assistant child care teacher training program approved by the Wisconsin department of public instruction.
  • Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree or 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
