This is a Teaching Assistant (TA) position which will assist faculty members in a variety of ways: cover classes and provide in-class critique; lecture in areas where the student is deemed competent; potentially tutor students who need additional individual help; assist faculty with class preparation (i.e., library research, internet searches, and PowerPoint presentations), record keeping, and supervised grading of assignments; and, other duties/responsibilities as deemed necessary or required. Instructing - Teaching others how to do something. Speaking - Talking to others to convey information effectively. Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents. Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
