About The Position

The Teaching Artist & Graphic Designer at Friendship Circle is a full-time role that combines art facilitation and graphic design. This position involves working directly with adult student-artists with special needs, guiding them through various art-making processes while also creating visual content to promote the programs. The role is split between teaching and design, allowing for a unique opportunity to impact lives through creativity and inclusivity.

Requirements

• Experience or expertise in one or more art mediums: fabrics, ceramics, woodworking, painting, etc.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud for producing high-quality, creative designs.
• Experience designing and managing laser cutter projects.
• Prior experience operating or a willingness to learn how to operate a direct-to-garment (DTG) printer.
• Strong organizational skills with excellent communication abilities.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Team-oriented with a passion for working with individuals with special needs (preferred experience).

Responsibilities

• Manage and teach Soul Studio artists, guiding them through creative exploration.
• Oversee and maintain the designated workstation, ensuring it remains organized, clean, and safe.
• Track and order materials for both art-making and design purposes.
• Keep artists engaged and document their projects, helping them progress in their technical skills and artistic abilities.
• Design print and digital materials for the program division, including brochures, flyers, gallery opening graphics, signage, and merchandise.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure that all materials align with Friendship Circle's vision and branding.
• Use Adobe Creative Cloud to develop eye-catching designs that convey the mission and impact of Friendship Circle.
