About the position
LearnWell is seeking a passionate and creative teacher to join our team in Streamwood, IL, on a full-time basis for the school year. This role involves working in a fast-paced behavioral health facility, providing academic support to school-age patients in a small classroom setting as they receive treatment. The teacher will plan and deliver daily lesson plans, provide individualized assistance to students, and communicate about student progress. The position requires flexibility as the teacher will also cover classes if needed and support administrative tasks related to student-centered activities.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver daily lesson plans for school-age patients.
- Provide individualized assistance to students as needed.
- Monitor and adjust teaching strategies to ensure student success.
- Maintain accurate attendance and session reports.
- Communicate regularly about student progress with relevant stakeholders.
- Support all teachers with student-centered administrative tasks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid IL teaching license, LBS1 preferred.
- Experience in teaching and comfortable working with mixed age students.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Reliable transportation.
