About The Position

Teaches school subjects in specialized facility to students with problems in learning. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following. Other duties may be assigned. -Plans and prepared lessons and other instructional materials to meet individual need of students, considering state and school requirements, physical, emotional and educational levels of development. -Works with students to provide consistent reinforcement to learning, continuous assessment of level of functioning and continuous feedback to student for all learning activities. -Teaches a class or classes of children who are LD or BD or both and who are not able to function in traditional school programs off campus. -Will work as a member of the treatment team to promote the growth of the children. -Will maintain discipline in the classroom. -Will keep adequate records. -Submits necessary reports to the Educational Director. -Responsible for being trauma aware, sensitive, and responsive to youth, families and colleagues through the completion of new hire and annual trauma informed education and training. #INDHP

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of children or employees of organization.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables institutions where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must be certified K through 12 in LD/BD.
  • Demonstrate, maintain, and apply Safe Crisis Management conceptual and physical competency as established at initial employment and annually thereafter.
