About The Position
This position is responsible for: Provides tutoring and educational instruction for school-age children; assists children with completing homework assignments, preparing for tests, and learning basic computer skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Education or related field, AND No prior experience required, OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Valid Teacher’s Certificate for the State of Texas
Responsibilities
- Provides individualized tutoring and educational instruction to school-age children in an emergency shelter environment.
- Provides computer training and education for children in an emergency shelter environment that are school age.
- Provides constant care for the needs of the children in an efficient, clean, loving, safe, secure and healthy manner.
- Ensures the accountability, security and safety of children participating in tutoring activities; reports all accidents to the supervisor in an accurate and timely manner.
