Teacher: Transitional Kindergarten - Kaiser Early Childhood Education (2026-27)
About The Position
Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is the first year of a two-year kindergarten experience. The Oakland Unified School District is looking for passionate and dedicated educators to join them in creating joyful, healing, and liberatory spaces of learning for Oakland students, families, and communities. Requirements
- Multiple Subject Credential
- Meet one of the following by August 1, 2023: at least 24 units in early childhood education or child development, or both; professional experience in a classroom setting with preschool-aged children that a local educational agency (LEA) deems comparable to 24 units; or a Child Development Teacher Permit issued from the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC)
- Bachelor’s degree
- Eligible for employment in the US
- Pass a criminal background check
- Possess, or be willing to earn, a California teaching credential
- Two current professional references on file, including one from a previous supervisor
- Disclose every California school district, County Office of Education, charter school or state special school that they have worked for to satisfy AB2534 requirements
