Springwoods Behavioral Health Services of Arkansas is looking for a PRN Teacher for our acute child/adolescent patients. Under the general supervision of the Director of Education, this position exists to provide direct instruction and other educational services to hospitalized children and adolescents in order to help them maintain or improve their academic performance levels/standing and help them make a smooth post-discharge transition back into their home school setting. NOTE: ALL CLASSROOM LESSON PLANS AND GRADING WILL BE CONDUCTED WITHIN WORKING HOURS TO MAINTAIN PATIENT CONFIDENTIALITY.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work within a team, taking direction from Lead Education staff and Clinical Services Director.
  • Effective verbal and written skills needed to maintain contact with patient’s home school counselors and other school district personnel throughout the patient’s hospitalization, as well as post discharge.
  • General knowledge of state and federal laws governing Special Education—Approved School Programs.
  • Must be able to understand and respond to complex written and oral instructions.
  • Must possess skills necessary to respond quickly and calmly under stressful or emergency situations.
  • Bachelor's Degree required in a behavioral health field.
  • CPR Certification

Nice To Haves

  • One year in a Special Education classroom preferred
