You just might be the person we are looking for if you have : Bachelor’s degree in related field Valid Texas certificate in appropriate area Ability to work effectively between the school and community Experience in providing instruction to students with autism spectrum disorder Valid CPI certification(Preferred or after employment) The mission of this role : Provide special education consultation and instruction to meet the needs of eligible students identified with autism spectrum disorder. What success looks like for this role : Participate in ARD/IEP meetings for eligible students. Complete local, state and federal paper work required for program participation. Develop and implement instructional program goals to meet the individual needs of each student and accountable for the KISD autism program teaching competencies. Demonstrate competence in the principles of changing behavior including consideration of environmental factors, and manipulating antecedents and consequences. Administer criterion referenced, district, and state testing as appropriate. Provide on-going communication with parents/guardians, campus staff, and special education supervisors. Collect and maintain appropriate data to measure student progress. Provide instruction using curriculum, environmental adaptations and accommodations, and instructional methods proven effective through current scientifically based research. Use teaching procedures that promote generalization and maintenance of skills. Participate in required continuing professional development designed to further develop knowledge and skills. Physically prompt students through instruction which may require lifting and positioning. Other SHARS Duties as assigned. Provide Personal Care as identified in applicable student IEPs.
