The Special Education Teacher plays a vital role in providing high-quality, individualized instruction and support to students with disabilities, ensuring their academic, social, and emotional success. This position requires a deep understanding of state and federal regulations regarding special education, as well as a commitment to inclusive practices and equity for all learners. The teacher will develop and implement effective instructional strategies, collaborate with staff and families, and create a safe, positive learning environment that fosters student growth and independence. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, including paraeducators and specialists, the Special Education Teacher is responsible for designing and delivering instruction tailored to students' unique needs, including those with multiple disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and behavioral challenges. The teacher will also be responsible for developing and maintaining compliant Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), using IEP Online and other tools to monitor and report student progress.
