About The Position

This position encompasses three main areas of responsibility: a full-time teacher at Eagle School, a soccer coach for the boys' high school team, and a resident supervisor for the boys' dorm. As a teacher, the individual's education, life experiences, and work experience will determine the best fit, ideally as a high school instructor. As a soccer coach, the role involves coaching both the fall and spring seasons for boys' high school soccer. The dorm resident supervisor aspect includes living in the boys' dorm and fulfilling all associated responsibilities, with separate living quarters provided.

Requirements

  • Mastery of the course material (for teaching role)
  • Classroom management skills (for teaching role)
  • Knowledge of soccer (for coaching role)
  • Current US Soccer Federation license or the equivalent from another country (for coaching role)

Responsibilities

  • Fulfill the normal duties of a teacher including classroom instruction, lesson planning, grading and grade entry.
  • Work with Eagle Administrative staff to deliver the best teaching quality to the students.
  • Have a mastery of the course material and be able to instruct the students in a logical manner that will promote retention and lifelong learning.
  • Maintain classroom management skills to ensure an orderly and conducive learning environment.
  • Know the sport of soccer well.
  • Conduct practices and oversee play in competition.
  • Work with the physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual needs of the boys in the soccer program.
  • Ensure good sportsmanship is the basis of all training and competition, with being a representative of Christ as a central element.
  • Be responsible for the care and concern of the boys living in the dorm.
  • Be onsite at all times the boys are in the dorm.
  • Ensure that the rules and requirements of the dorm are maintained through regular meetings and instruction.
  • Coordinate with the Eagle administration dorm overseer.
  • Give guidance in areas such as food purchasing, food preparation, study for school, spiritual growth and life needs.
  • Act as the "father" of the dorm boys while they are living in the dorm.
