About The Position

Teaches specific grade level subject matter to diverse middle school student population following District standards-based curriculum. Helps all students develop competence and confidence simultaneously through a balance of acquiring basic skills and developing conceptual understanding. We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic Elementary, Middle or High School Dance Teacher to inspire young students through movement. The role involves planning and teaching engaging, age-appropriate dance lessons, promoting coordination and self-expression, and fostering a positive, supportive classroom environment

Requirements

Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field required.
Have a valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license.
Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education.
Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.

Responsibilities

Counsels students to encourage and support student achievement.
Monitors, supervises, coordinates, and enforces rule of conduct and behavior of assigned students and reinforces positive student behaviors in accordance with school and District policy.
Observes, evaluates, reports, and records student performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
Prepares lesson plans and materials according to District approved curriculum guidelines.
Adapts teaching methods and instructional materials to meet varying needs and learning styles.
Instructs students individually and in groups using various teaching methods (e.g., lectures, technology, discussions).
Establishes and communicates clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
Prepares, administers, assigns, and grades tests and assignments to evaluate student progress, reporting grades using District software.
Prepares student, attendance, and activity reports as required by administrators.
Communicates with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve student behavior and academic problems.
May participate in extra-duty activities such as coaching, tutoring, or summer programs, as outlined in the Teachers’ Collective Bargaining Agreement and in accordance with Department of Labor regulations.

Salaries for the 2026–2027 school year are typically finalized and released mid-summer, with an effective date of August 1.
