Primary Purpose: This position is responsible for classroom teacher functions. Provides instruction that is attentive to individual student's academic, social, and emotional needs. This position is contingent on the availability and continuation of external-funding and/or contract. As such, any offer of employment may be withdrawn or employment ended in the event the external funding and/or contract ceases or is reduced.

  • Develops and delivers instruction in coding, robotics, and computational thinking, incorporating hands-on, project-based learning experiences.
  • Record and maintain school, classroom, and students' information such as attendance, student files, referral information, progress reports, lesson plans, curriculum development, etc.
  • Attend and participate in departmental/division meetings, planning projects, activities, and school related evening and weekend programs.
  • Manages and maintains robotics and coding materials, equipment, and supplies, ensuring a safe and organized learning environment. Reports and addresses safety concerns as needed.
  • Establishes and maintains a positive, student-centered learning environment that encourages collaboration and innovation.
  • Refers students for additional support when necessary, following school procedures.
  • Communicates regularly with parents and professional staff regarding student progress and classroom activities.
  • Designs and implements engaging lesson plans that align with the school's curriculum and philosophy while fostering creativity and problem-solving skills.
  • Integrate technology into the teaching-learning process.
  • Maintain proper discipline and assist students in developing self-discipline and a sense of responsibility.
  • Establish a humanistic, systematic classroom code of conduct.
  • Participate in supervisory duties, arrival/dismissal, playground, and lunchroom supervisory responsibilities as assigned by the Director.
  • Strong understanding of coding languages (e.g., Python, Java, Scratch, etc.) and robotics platforms (e.g., VEX, LEGO, Arduino, etc.).
  • Ability to develop engaging, hands-on learning experiences that promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective classroom management and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities.
  • Experience integrating technology into curriculum and instruction.
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • In field or 12 credits in field
  • None.
  • Valid State of Florida Certification Certificate.
  • Master's Degree in Education, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
  • One (1) year of successful experience in teaching.
  • Experience with STEM-related extracurricular activities such as robotics competitions and coding clubs.
