About The Position

The Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) will specifically support teachers and students in ELA literacy through a co-teaching, push-in model that supports identified targeted students on an ongoing basis. At the beginning of the school year, the TOSA will be assigned to a consistent schedule of specific grade spans, schools, and classrooms for the school year. In addition, TOSAs will be able to provide extended day intervention opportunities. TOSA schedules will be determined by site bell schedules and extended day needs. The focus through work is to help students whose learning has been disrupted and to support our teachers in meeting the needs of students.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in teaching.
  • Possess a valid multiple-subject credential or single-subject credential.
  • Demonstrated site and/or district leadership.
  • Experience as a presenter.
  • Familiarity with District-utilized curriculum and software.
  • Ability to work well and collaborate with others.
  • Show initiative, flexibility, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Desire to assist classroom teachers.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Culturally Relevant Teaching.
  • Working in highly functional PLC environments.
  • Proficiency in technological presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support teachers and students in ELA literacy through co-teaching and push-in model.
