About The Position

The Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments at LIGHTHOUSE CENTRAL FLORIDA INC is dedicated to providing specialized educational services to students with visual impairments. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with students with visual impairments.
  • Experience in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Proven track record of collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support student learning.
  • Strong understanding of Braille and other tactile learning methods.
  • Ability to adapt teaching materials and strategies to accommodate visual impairments.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in using assistive technology and tools designed for visually impaired students.
  • Demonstrated patience, empathy, and commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in teaching students with visual impairments is preferred.
