About The Position

New Jersey Institute for Disabilities (NJID) is one of the largest not-for-profit agencies of its kind in the nation. It provides services to infants, children, and adults with developmental and related disabilities. NJID offers specialized facilities, programs, and support throughout New Jersey. Join our dedicated staff of more than 500 and make a difference in someone's life! We are currently recruiting for a Teacher of Students with Disabilities to work with students with developmental and related disabilities aged 3-21 years at our Lakeview School.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
• New Jersey teaching certification for students with disabilities.
• Experience working with children with developmental disabilities.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
• Experience in a classroom setting with students aged 3-21.
• Knowledge of behavioral management techniques.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
• Provide instruction and support to students in a variety of settings.
• Collaborate with other educators and support staff to enhance student learning.
• Monitor and assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and other stakeholders.
