About The Position

The Pennsauken Public Schools is seeking a Teacher of Science for Burling Alternative High School. This position is part of an urban/suburban school district serving approximately 5,000 students from Pre-K to 12th grade in Camden County, New Jersey. The role involves developing lesson plans, evaluating student progress, and maintaining communication with parents and staff to support student needs. The teacher will also enforce school rules and maintain a safe and orderly work environment.

Requirements

• Endorsement #1000, #1103, #2200, #2210, #2220, #2230, #2240, #2260, #2270 New Jersey State Certification REQUIRED
• MUST pass NJ Criminal History Review Unit fingerprinting requirement
• New Jersey state residency requirements for public employees in effect

Responsibilities

• Develops lesson plans and prepares for the daily instruction program
• Evaluates student progress and provides progress reports as required
• Strives to maintain professional competence
• Identifies pupil needs in cooperation with other professional staff members and assists in assessing and helping pupils with school related problems
• Enforces school rules, administrative regulations and board policy
• Maintains communication with parents, administrators and other professional staff members in order to best serve the interest of students
• Maintains a safe and orderly work area
• Performs other duties within the scope of employment and certification as assigned by the principal and/or his/her designee
