About the role We are looking for experienced Metal Fabrication and Welding professionals who are ready to shape the future workforce. This is an opportunity to bring your industry expertise into the classroom and support learners as they develop practical skills, nationally recognised qualifications, and job‑ready capabilities. At TAFE NSW, our fabrication and welding apprenticeship training is strongly aligned to current industry needs. You’ll deliver hands‑on, skills‑based learning across a variety of fabrication environments, supporting apprentices from foundational welding techniques through to advanced fabrication processes. By sharing your knowledge and mentoring students in real‑world practices, you’ll play a key role in preparing them for successful careers in a trade that underpins Australia’s growth and infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Hold appropriate subject knowledge and skills, and at minimum hold a Certificate III in Metal Fabrication (Trades).
  • Have a minimum of five years post-qualification industry experience relevant to your qualifications, gained no longer than five years previously.
  • Hold evidence of the required teaching qualifications to deliver Vocational Education and Training (VET).
  • Be prepared to develop and maintain your VET knowledge and skills as well as your industry currency, and trainer/assessor competence.
  • Successful candidates must hold a valid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) prior to commencing.
  • To be eligible for a position at TAFE NSW, you must be an Australian citizen, a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand passport.
