About The Position

Trinity School, a co-educational, K-12 institution located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, seeks an Upper School Teacher of Biology beginning September 1, 2026. Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree as well as research experience in biology or a related field. The successful candidate will run the Science Department’s research program and teach two sections of science courses, at least one of which will be in biology. After the first year, the position will include leading a group of Upper School students in the School’s advisory program. The position will also include additional supervisory duties and attending grade-level and faculty meetings. The ideal candidate will possess strong content knowledge in biology, experience in a research setting, the ability to supervise students’ research projects, an exceptional understanding of student learning needs, strong communication skills, emotional intelligence, a commitment to an equitable classroom culture inclusive of varied student experiences, an awareness of how race, gender, and other aspects of identity manifest themselves in the classroom, an ability to work cooperatively and generously with colleagues, an eagerness to build community both within the school and with community partners, and a sense of humor.
