LICENSED VACANCY Position is for the 2026-2027 school year POSITION: Teacher, Multilingual Learner LOCATION: 9200 York St., Thornton, CO 80229- York International PAY RANGE: Licensed Salary Schedule, $60,004 - $124,634 Annual Salary CALENDAR: 190 Days REPORTS TO: School Director/Principal SCHOOL DESIGN OVERVIEW: York International School is a globally minded K-12 school. QUALIFICATIONS: Colorado teaching license with an appropriate Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education endorsement required. Or willingness to pursue endorsement or equivalent coursework. Background in bilingual education and/or language acquisition preferred. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS: The Multilingual Learner (ML) teacher will collaborate with classroom teachers to provide language instruction for students. The ML teacher will collaborate with classroom teachers to provide English Language Development (ELD) services for identified students. This may take many forms, including co-planning and co-teaching, push-in small groups, and pull-out small groups. The ML teacher will model best practices for language acquisition. Ability to collaborate with teacher colleagues to make student-centered decisions. Ability to form strong professional relationships to accomplish organizational goals. Grounded in current language acquisition and dual language research. Sophisticated understanding of teaching and learning. Commitment to inclusive practices for language learners. Design and deliver instructional plans based on the Colorado Academic Standards that are purposeful, engaging, and meet the differentiated needs of all students. Use district-adopted curricular resources. Conduct formative assessments that guide instruction. Other duties as assigned. TRAINING: Mandatory Title IX training is required by the Colorado Department of Education and for all public-school employees. Title IX training addresses harassment, discrimination, and bullying. Completing these mandatory Title IX training courses ensure we are meeting state requirements while continuing to foster a culture of safety and belonging across our schools. You will have two mandatory training courses that must be completed within 30 days of your date of hire and are required to be completed on your own time.
