Orchard Farm School District is seeking a certified Math Specialist to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year! The Math Specialist will provide direct intervention support to struggling students and assist teachers and staff with the implementation of appropriate research-based strategies to increase student proficiency in mathematics.   • Research, teach, and model best practices used to address the needs of those students who struggle with math skills and concepts
  • Provide direct intervention support to struggling students in the area of mathematics
  • Lead the collection, analyzation, and maintenance of student benchmark and progress monitoring data
  • Have a thorough understanding of evidence-based instructional best practices
  • Create lesson plans and activities grounded in evidence based practices to implement and supplement instruction
  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that advance all areas of children’s development and learning, including social, emotional, intellectual and physical competencies
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding progress and other educational concerns
  • Maintain accurate student records
  • Implement special educational plans such as 504 plans, individual educational programs and individual health plans
  • Participate in Tier 3 meetings as requested
  • Participate in building level PLT meetings as requested
  • Participate as a member of an IEP team, 504 team or other student assistance teams as requested
  • Participate in building, grade level and subject area committees (IAC)
  • Participate in professional development activities
  • Maintain an orderly physical environment conducive to optimal growth and development of students
  • Supervision to ensure visual and auditory awareness of children at all times to ensure their safety.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, peers, parents and staff members
  • Complete and submit forms and required reports in a timely manner
  • Prepare lesson plans for use by a substitute teacher
  • Report suspected abuse, neglect, discrimination and harassment as directed by Board policy
  • Willingness to learn new skills and perform a variety of tasks
  • Perform additional building duties, student supervision, and responsibilities as assigned by Building Administrator
  • Support non-instructional school events, family nights, or student activities as assigned.
  • Assist with general supervision duties not directly related to mathematics instruction when needed.
  • Maintain visual and auditory supervision of students at all times to ensure safety and engagement.
  • Bachelor degree in Education or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience teaching mathematics or providing instructional support/intervention.
  • Valid Missouri teaching certificate in appropriate content area.

  • Apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, ratios, percentages, and statistical analysis to practical and instructional contexts.
  • Use data-driven decision-making to improve student learning outcomes.
  • Reasoning & Problem-Solving Skills
  • Identify instructional challenges and implement effective, research-based solutions.
  • Adapt instruction and support based on student progress and evolving needs.
  • Exercise sound judgment in diverse instructional and behavioral situations.
  • Technology Skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and instructional technology tools.
  • Utilize district software for tracking student progress and analyzing assessment data.
  • Operate classroom technologies such as interactive whiteboards, document cameras, and projectors.
