About The Position

The Haverhill Public Schools is seeking a Math Teacher (Interventionist) for Consentino Middle School. This position is anticipated to open for the 2025-2026 school year. The Math Teacher will serve as a liaison between the Math Supervisor, Math Coach, and classroom teachers, providing support and resources to improve math instruction and student outcomes. The role involves consulting with teachers on student placement, instructional strategies, and progress monitoring for students needing interventions. The teacher will also administer assessments, analyze data, and participate in decision-making regarding student grouping.

Requirements

  • Certified as a Teacher of Math by the Massachusetts Department of Education, SEI Endorsement Required.
  • Ed. in Math, preferred.
  • Demonstrated classroom teaching experience.
  • Skills, knowledge, and dispositions to effectively and collaboratively work with teachers to improve general classroom math instruction.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as liaison between the Math Supervisor, Math Coach, and classroom teacher.
  • Consults with classroom teachers on grouping, testing, student placement, and instructional strategies.
  • Identifies and selects children based on available test data, reading level, and teacher input.
  • Supports teachers by providing resources and ideas about assessment and instruction.
  • Assists with progress monitoring for students in need of interventions.
  • Identifies reading deficiencies and prescribes a plan for remediation.
  • Works with students on Tier I, Tier II, and Tier III interventions.
  • Administers, scores, and records results of pre-post standardized tests.
  • Aligns remedial instruction with the classroom math program and integrated services where possible.
  • Participates in kindergarten screening, team evaluations, and the testing of new students as directed.
  • Assesses the math proficiency of students through progress monitoring.
  • Analyzes data to drive effective instruction.
  • Participates in decision making about student grouping and movement across tiers.
  • Completes pupil progress reports and discusses program with parents.
  • Promotes students' interest in math.
  • Inventories math materials in assigned building(s).
  • Works cooperatively with the Title I, Special Education, Math Coach, and Administrators.
  • Attends monthly Math Meetings with Math Supervisor.
  • Is responsible for instructional and other general duties as indicated by the building Principal, Math Supervisor, and the Superintendent of Schools.
