About The Position

The Math Teacher for 7th Grade at Bryan ISD is responsible for providing in-person and virtual instruction in mathematics to help students achieve their intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. The role involves developing lesson plans, assessing student learning, and creating a conducive learning environment while collaborating with other educators and maintaining communication with students and parents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI).
  • Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.
  • Knowledge of core academic subject assigned and curriculum best practices for online learning.
  • Strong knowledge of Internet and web-related technology.
  • Ability to instruct students using various technology applications and platforms.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop relationships and maintain consistent contact with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to support students with computer setup, navigation, and technology issues.
  • Experience in student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement lesson plans for in-person, distance, and virtual learning that fulfill the district's curriculum requirements.
  • Prepare lessons that accommodate individual student differences.
  • Plan and use appropriate instructional strategies, activities, materials, and technology based on students' learning styles.
  • Conduct assessments of student learning styles and use results to inform instructional activities.
  • Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula for special education students as per IEP guidelines.
  • Work with staff to determine instructional goals and methods according to district requirements.
  • Plan and assign work to instructional aides and oversee their completion.
  • Provide timely feedback to students and track their progress through various methods.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments related to student achievement through formal and informal methods.
  • Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned and sponsor approved outside activities.
  • Serve as a positive role model for students and support the goals of the campus and school district.
  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for students' development.
  • Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.
  • Take precautions to protect students, equipment, and materials.
  • Assist in selecting instructional materials and maintain required reports and records.
  • Communicate regularly with students and parents via phone, email, or video conferencing.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with parents, students, and colleagues.
  • Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills and comply with regulations and policies.
  • Attend faculty meetings and serve on committees as required.
  • Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
