About The Position

The mathematics teacher is responsible for delivering standards-aligned instruction grounded in clear learning goals, varied instructional approaches, and meaningful opportunities for critical thinking, while using ongoing assessment and feedback to support student growth. The teacher fosters a collaborative, inclusive classroom culture and implements equitable, culturally responsive practices to ensure all students have access to rigorous learning. Through data-informed instruction and collaboration with colleagues, the teacher supports continuous improvement and high levels of achievement for every learner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Massachusetts DESE license.
  • Hudson High School is a grade 8-12 school. Applicants for this position should be certified to teach all grade levels.
  • SEI Endorsement
  • Successful completion of Criminal Records Check (CORI), and fingerprints
  • Demonstrated strong mathematical content knowledge from Math 8 through Calculus, including Statistics and Financial Reasoning, with experience teaching Precalculus.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering instruction grounded in clear learning goals, varied approaches, and ongoing assessment and feedback.
  • Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction to support diverse learners and maintain appropriate rigor across academic and honors courses.
  • Demonstrated a commitment to equitable, inclusive practices that ensure all students access meaningful and challenging mathematics.
  • Demonstrated experience working with high school students and collaborating with colleagues to support student learning.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver standards-aligned instruction with clear, shared learning goals and success criteria.
  • Design learning experiences that promote critical and creative thinking, using varied methods, materials, and representations to meet diverse learner needs.
  • Use ongoing assessment, progress checks, and timely feedback to monitor student learning and adjust instruction.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive classroom culture that supports student discourse, engagement, and risk-taking.
  • Differentiate instruction to ensure equitable access and high expectations for all students, including students with disabilities and multilingual learners.
  • Implement equitable and culturally responsive practices that reflect and honor the diversity of the student population.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, including special education and English learner staff, to support student learning.
  • Use instructional strategies and technology to enhance student engagement, confidence, and independence.
  • Use data to inform instruction and maintain appropriate records of student progress.
  • Engage in ongoing professional learning, reflection, and collaboration.
  • Support students in meeting district and state assessment expectations (e.g., MCAS).
  • Uphold district policies ensuring equal educational opportunity for all students.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.
