About The Position

The Teacher for Grade 1 at Loudoun County Public Schools is responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and assessing an instructional program tailored to a diverse group of elementary students. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
• Holds or is eligible for a Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in the appropriate subject area.
• Demonstrated knowledge of elementary content, curriculum, and effective teaching methodologies.
• Ability to apply current research and theory to instructional programs.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with students, peers, administrators, and parents.
• Demonstrated skill in oral and written communications; excellent human relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Establishes a safe and supportive environment conducive to learning.
• Designs and implements engaging learning experiences using Virginia Standards of Learning and LCPS curriculum.
• Personalizes instruction based on student needs.
• Assesses student growth related to educational goals and outcomes.
• Adheres to LCPS Assessment and Grading policy and guidelines.
• Monitors and supports student behavior in instructional settings and other school areas.
• Collaborates with colleagues, students, parents, and the community to promote student learning.
• May direct the work of teacher assistants, student teachers, and volunteers.
• Participates in the school's professional learning community to enhance understanding of curriculum and student needs.
