About The Position

The position is for a Professional/Certified Special Education Teacher within the Southwest Erath County Special Education SSA. The role is essential in providing specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities, ensuring they receive a quality education tailored to their individual needs. The teacher will work closely with students, parents, and other educational staff to develop and implement effective educational plans.

Requirements

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
• Experience working with students with disabilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
• Experience with behavior management strategies.
• Knowledge of assistive technology.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
• Provide direct instruction to students in a variety of settings.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive practices.
• Monitor and assess student progress and adjust instruction as needed.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs.
