About The Position

Southwest Christian School is seeking a creative and forward-thinking educator to launch and lead our K–6 Innovation Lab for the 2026-2027 school year. The Innovation Lab is a new weekly enrichment experience where students learn to think critically, design creatively, and use technology with purpose. The Innovation Lab integrates design thinking, project-based learning, STEM exploration, and purposeful use of technology. This individual will play a key role in collaborating with administrators to build the program from the ground up, shaping the vision, curriculum, and learning experiences that will inspire curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving in our youngest learners. This is not a traditional computer class. In the Innovation Lab, students engage in hands-on experiences that develop an innovator’s mindset, building curiosity, problem-solving, collaboration, and perseverance. Through design challenges, creative projects, coding experiences, and digital storytelling, students learn to use technology as a tool for creating, investigating, and designing solutions to real-world challenges while stewarding their creativity and abilities to serve others. While some projects involve digital tools, others emphasize low-tech design, engineering thinking, and creative problem solving, particularly in the younger grades. The goal is to build foundational thinking skills that prepare students to become thoughtful creators and problem-solvers. Students visit the Innovation Lab once each week, where the teacher designs and facilitates engaging, project-based learning experiences aligned with the ISTE Standards for Students. We are looking for an educator who enjoys experimenting with new ideas, building meaningful learning experiences, and learning alongside students. The ideal candidate will help students discover how to use creativity and technology to serve others and steward the gifts God has given them.
