About The Position

The position is for a Certified Elementary School Teacher, aimed at providing all students with appropriate learning activities and experiences. The teacher will be responsible for instruction in core academic subjects to help students fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. The role requires adherence to federal and state laws, as well as district policies and regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for the subject and level assigned.
• Demonstrated competency in the academic subject area assigned.
• Knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Minimum experience as a student teacher or approved internship.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the district's curriculum program.
• Prepare lesson plans that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles and instructional needs.
• Use the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) as instructional objectives to plan teaching.
• Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment.
• Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula for special education students.
• Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process and promote student engagement.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for students' development.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships and open communication with parents, students, and colleagues.
• Provide formative and summative assessments of student achievement.
• Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.
• Participate in training and staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
