As a teacher in this role, you will be responsible for teaching the Elementary General Curriculum in a setting that includes students with Special Needs and English Language Learners (SEI). You will implement district learning goals and objectives, ensuring alignment with state frameworks, and will be familiar with identifying access points for student portfolio development. Your responsibilities will also include providing small-group instruction to students diagnosed with moderate to severe cognitive delays to ensure understanding and progress in the general curriculum. You will write and implement goals and objectives consistent with student Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and provide timely and regular progress reports on student development. Additionally, you will provide needed accommodations for student learning and testing when required, and if necessary, develop and implement curriculum while collecting and analyzing student work in preparation for MCAS Alternative Assessment to assure progress and development. Collaboration with other staff members within the school building will be essential to support student needs for modification.
