About The Position

This role is for the 26-27 school year. Join Iowa Elementary in shaping the educational journey of our 3rd-grade students, focusing on science and social studies. Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging lessons that align with the curriculum and meet the diverse needs of students. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting respect and collaboration. Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to support their learning journey. Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and develop innovative teaching strategies. Integrate technology into lessons to enhance student engagement and critical thinking skills. Foster a love for science and social studies, encouraging curiosity and exploration. Differentiate instruction to accommodate various learning styles and abilities. Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation as per school policies. Attend professional development sessions to stay updated with teaching methodologies. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to ensure a strong home-school connection.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field, with a focus on elementary education.
  • Valid teaching certification/license for the state of Iowa.
  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in a similar setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge in science and social studies for elementary levels.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and online learning platforms.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with a student-centered approach.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and cater to diverse learning needs.
