Administers and manages activities within a specific area of a responsibility. Serves as the subject matter expert and applies gained knowledge to execute, maintain and improve systems, programs, or processes. Teaches and manages a self-contained classroom for students with autism spectrum disorders whose educational needs center on development of academics, social-emotional, and adaptive behavior skills. Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field required. A Master's Degree is only required for Concurrent Enrollment positions.
  • Have a valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license.
  • Current Colorado Department of Education Teachers License with endorsement in Special Education Early Childhood Special Education OR qualify for Alternative License and passing score on the PLACE or Praxis II
  • Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
  • Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.

Nice To Haves

  • Hold a Master’s Degree in Deaf Education, preferred.
  • Experience working with young students with exceptional needs and their parents preferred.
  • Experience developing and implementing IEPs and BIPs.
  • Experience co-teaching in core academic subjects and thrives in a collaborative team approach preferred.
  • Experience working or teaching a diverse student population.
  • Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education.

Responsibilities

  • Day to day execution: provides various support and conducts activities related to logistics, reporting, training, communications, and processes. Participates in the planning and implementation of new initiative.
  • Problem solving: assesses and troubleshoots escalated problems and applies expert understanding to resolve complex challenges of stakeholders; focuses on root cause identification in order to achieve systemic and sustainable improvement. Approves and documents exceptions for compliance record keeping and reporting.
  • Collaboration: ensures appropriate key stakeholder involvement in planning, goal-setting, and implementation to achieve buy-in of work products. Ensures purposeful, positive and professional interactions and relationships with all stakeholders; enables consistent application of work products across the district.
  • Continuous improvement: identifies opportunities for improvement, prioritizes, and recommends solutions to management. Implements approved enhancements to ensure consistency across the district. identifies opportunities to reduce costs; analyzes available data, trends, and feedback, and ensures compliance with expectations for optimal operation and goal achievement.
