About the position
The Teacher - Dyslexia position is a special education role focused on providing support to students with dyslexia across the district. The position is based at the Academic Support Center and involves working with students to develop their reading and writing skills, tailored to their individual needs. The teacher will be responsible for creating and implementing instructional plans that accommodate the unique learning styles of students with dyslexia.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with dyslexia.
- Provide direct instruction to students in reading and writing.
- Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
- Collaborate with other educators and specialists to support student learning.
- Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs.
Requirements
- Valid teaching certification in special education or related field.
- Experience working with students with dyslexia or learning disabilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop and implement effective instructional strategies.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with multi-sensory teaching methods.
