Requirements

  • Associate Degree: in Early Childhood Education or related field (Required)
  • Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • General experience in a related teaching role with young children, or completion of teaching practicum (Required)
  • General experience and knowledge of DHS regulations and PA Early Learning Standards (Required)
  • Required within 90 days of hire: Completion of Get Started with Center-based Care: Building Blocks for Quality, Pediatric First Aid CPR and Mandated Reporter Training.
  • Mandated Reporter Training to be maintained every 5 years.
  • Fire Safety Training required within a year of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor Degree: in Early Childhood Education or related field (Preferred)
  • General Experience and knowledge of Ages & Stages Questionnaires, Ounce Scale, and Work Sampling (Preferred)
  • General Experience and knowledge of Environmental Rating Scale (ERS) standards and NAEYC Standards (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum for assigned age group.
  • Manages well-run, organized, responsive learning environment and synchronizes the roles of teaching staff to ensure delivery of quality programming.
  • Monitors teacher:child ratio to ensure proper supervision of children.
  • Observes, records, and assesses the progress of each child and designs activities to further develop the identified skills and abilities.
  • Works with specialists to create goals and oversees the implementation of intervention plans (ISFP and IEP).
