About The Position

The position is responsible for implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum for the assigned age group. The individual will manage a well-run, organized, and responsive learning environment while synchronizing the roles of teaching staff to ensure the delivery of quality programming. Responsibilities include monitoring the teacher-to-child ratio to ensure proper supervision of children, observing, recording, and assessing the progress of each child, and designing activities to further develop identified skills and abilities. The role also involves working with specialists to create goals and overseeing the implementation of intervention plans such as ISFP and IEP. Additionally, the position requires completing professional writing tasks, including progress reports, newsletters, and portfolios, as well as daily standards-based lesson planning and ongoing assessments. The individual will oversee and evaluate practicum students, serve as a positive role model, and uphold program-wide values and other center initiatives through professional conduct. Strong leadership qualities are essential to enhance overall team performance and fulfill program goals.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (Required).
  • Completion of Get Started with Center Based Care - Building Blocks for Quality (K6.2, C1, CDA6; 10 hours) (Required).
  • General experience in a related teaching role with young children, or completion of teaching practicum (Required).
  • General experience and knowledge of DHS regulations and PA Early Learning Standards (Required).
  • Pediatric First Aid CPR (Required).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (Preferred).
  • General experience and knowledge of Ages & Stages Questionnaires, Ounce Scale, and Work Sampling (Preferred).
  • General experience and knowledge of Environmental Rating Scale (ERS) standards and NAEYC Standards (Preferred).

Responsibilities
